AVMAP GEOPILOT GPS MOUNTING IDEAS...

We suggest using the RAM-MOUNT rubber ball and socket system to mount the GeoPilot in your aircraft. We attach a RAM-MOUNT ball base on the back of the GPS, using some "permanent" poster mounting tape. We've found this provides a very strong and durable mount (and even though the tape is "permanent", it can be removed from the GPS by cutting through the foam with a razor blade to remove the RAM-MOUNT ball base and then the tape can be peeled off the back of the GPS and off the back of the RAM-MOUNT ball base). How we do this and a few ways of mounting are shown in the photos below.

In the photos above, a yellow marker is used to show where the RAM-MOUNT clamps to the aircraft yoke tube. When using the RAM-MOUNT yoke mount, either the short or the long post can be used as needed for your aircraft and preferences.
